Party time
A glorious day for this second day of Coronation celebrations. It was summer weather so I had to revise what to wear for todays events. We did well yesterday with rain holding off till evening unlike elsewhere but it was short sleeves and sandals today!
It was designated ‘The Big Lunch’ for street parties today so the weather was perfect. On my way up to church there were preparations going on on our estate with gazebos going up for shade.
We didn’t have time for a big lunch as, after a nice morning service related to yesterday’s events, we were off to sing with our Community Choir at Baildon Community Garden where we sang for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last June in similar hot weather.
We arrived to the concert band ‘Hot Aire’ playing and prior to that there had a been a Rock Choir. Estimated around 100 of us sang a set of 8 songs. The dress theme was red, white and blue and here you have some of our lovely harmony ladies in red wearing various embellishments. A very nice occasion and a fun sing.
Fellow blipper and friend Wilsden Walker was there, she’s always a good supporter and AMSI, who I met at the event last year for the first time. It was good to see her again and she very kindly brought me a Hoya/Wax plant that I have admired on her blips. Thank you so much I hope I can take care of it properly.
