It was a thrill to view the great Terra Cotta Army of Xian. Just unearthed in 1974, the 6,000 plus figures are considered one of the foremost archaelological discoveries of the 20th century. The 2,000 year old army was found by accident by local farmers digging a well. It was on my bucket list and I was completely entranced.
