Glendalough
Went for a walk around Glendalough today: from Laragh, up Derrybawn, over Mullacor. on to Lugduff and back down the track above Glendalough itslelf, known as "the Spinc" ("an spinc" in Irish translates as pointed hill). The blip is the view down over the head of the upper of Glendalough's two lakes (Gleann Dá Loch meaning the valley of the two lakes). You can see the spoil heaps on the opposite side of the glen, from old lead mines that were very active in the nineteenth century and finally ceased operation in 1957.
