Passing on the Tradition

As the hat proudly proclaims, "I build Fairy Houses".  When I was teaching elementary school, I would always bring my first grade students on a field trip to build fairy houses the last week of school.  First, they would watch the delightful film, Fairy Tale: a true story.  That revved up their imagination and then off we'd go.  My neighbor's 5 year old grandchild, her mom and I did just that (and I'm happy to report, the black flies were not a bother!)  We had a delightful time and didn't forget to leave a few bits of "fairy cake" (shortbread) at the doorstep!
