Inspection
The inspector for the electrical service provider came to inspect our solar system today to ensure it meets standards and we can sell our surplus to our provider (EDF - who really don't want to buy it). The installer arrived first to put in a few last minute warning stickers, and was there to answer any questions.
The inspector was very nice and spoke way better English than the installer, and was quite happy with the installation. The inspector was perfectly happy with the way the PV was plumbed into the house at the second consumer unit blipped here.
After the inspector left the installer added a counter so we can see what we've generated, and combined with the export figure from the LINKY, and a real time current clamp I have, we have an idea what's going on.
For the curious our panels are generating about about 27.5 kWh per day at the moment and we're consuming about 6.5 kWh ourselves, the remaining 21 kWh per day we're giving away to EDF... The inspector did say that the LINKY is recording all the exports and it's possible that EDF will pay for the electricity we've already exported once the profile has been set-up...
