Attentive

I feel that I'm cataloguing or collecting, like PG Tips tea cards when I was a kid. Anyway, another new one to add - a lesser scaup - at least I think it is as there is a fine distinction between it and a greater scaup. Not sure how many species of duck I've recorded, but it seems like a lot.

The male was very keen to follow his partner's every move, and she was quick, on a mission. Protective, guarded, attentive, dutiful; I'm not sure of the right adjective for his behaviour.
