Leaf Shadows

The light and shade was lovely in the wood this morning. A very welcome change from the last few days.
Made a batch of pancakes and delivered some to Janice, and then some to Gary who is going to come tomorrow to fix some wood over the holes Ratty McRatface has made in the floor of my shed. There’s no food to be eaten in the shed, but the rat has torn open a bag of compost and spread it everywhere. I’m exhausted this evening after emptying the shed, cleaning it out and returning everything. I’ve temporarily blocked the holes.
Last night Geordie and I caught a mouse! Spotted one running through the hall, so shot out of bed and managed with Geordie’s help to guide it into a bucket. I left it to make new friends in the wood this morning. Several more to go, of course, but it’s a start. The traps are set with peanut butter.
I shall not rest until all uninvited guests are banished from my home and garden! I’m on a mission now.
