Bon Voyage
Safe travels, dear friends. It is not always possible to travel amicably for three weeks with friends, but we have done just that with you. We enjoyed the sophisticated city life in Vancouver, and the rustic motel with a view of the parking lot for big trucks and the restaurant that closed at 6pm on Mothers' Day. We laughed about eating "out of a box" in the restaurant in Rogue River, and made it through a day in a car leaking fluid from the engine and air from a tire, spending time at the BMW dealer in Medford instead of at Crater lake. There were Altoids and cookies and Altoids and nuts and Altoids...You were really good sports.
In Santa Rosa we took you to our favorite spots. You walked the dog with us. You met our families and our friends. You adjusted seamlessly to our late meals, casual lifestyle and even, on occasion, to eating standing up! We looked for the full moon that never rose, climbed the 25 steps to the arbor, and sat on the porch watching the birds. I see by the picture I took at the airport today that you have donned your anoraks again. We are blessed with sun and warm weather, which was clearly changing today as we drove to the airport. We will gladly spare some for you to take with you.
We will treasure our memories and look forward to the time when we see you next, perhaps on your side of the pond, to create more.
We will miss you...
