CLOSE UP
This shot is an exercise in getting a clear, sharp picture. I'm happy with the detail and texture of the flower petals around the edge, and also the detail of the little 'flowerettes' developing in the center. It was taken in the early morning light, which is why the shadowed leaves are quite dark. This is the same plant I posted on May 18 while it was still in the bud stage. This naturally wild bush on the edge of the woods is far prettier than I'd ever noticed - at every stage. The flowers are only 2.5" in diameter - so much delicate detail in such a little flower.
I'm just beginning to realize the amazing abilities of the camera once I take it off automatic. Experiencing the learning curve is going to be lots of fun! I'll be studying the tutorial disc - one step at a time.
