Oranges and lemons...
...say the bells of St Clements...The old nursery rhyme (originating in the 1700s) came in a flash when I was reminded that Correas are in the same family as citrus fruit. These are pressed parts of our C. reflexa, Dusky Bells, which is laden with flowers at the moment. It's a funny family, the Rutaceae, with so many different characteristics...when we've been out west I would hardly have believed that the Wilga (Geijera parviflora) was a cousin of the Murraya and Choisya often used in Sydney hedging. Live 'n learn, they say!
