Shay

Another local cup final saw me returning to the Shay Stadium for some early evening football.

Contesting the Halifax and District FA Cup were Illingworth based Crossleys AFC, who play in the Craven League, and Elland team Huddersfield Amateur who compete in the higher level West Yorkshire Association Football League. 

Crossleys seemed quite a young team, and the experience and quality of Amateur showed in a 5-0 win. Again there were several hundred people in the stadium to support these grassroots teams.

Forgoing the action on the pitch, I decided that the floodlights in the far corner of the stadium made quite an elegant subject, along with the evening light coming through the trees that fringe Skircoat Road. The pigeon is a graceful accent :)
