Chanonry Point lighthouse
A busy day. A delivery from Wickes at 8am, decking and posts. Mike did some more of the fence which is looking good. He also sprayed some grab rails black.
Forgot to say that my injections came yesterday so I’ve started those again. Hopefully I’ll notice a difference soon.
Brownies was great, the new girls have settled well and are very enthusiastic. We met at the park as part of the Big Help Out for the Kings Coronation. Sarah came along and talked to us about pollution of the seas as part of our Make a Splash badge ( I’ve adapted it abit to suit us )
Very interesting , she included light pollution using a torch in a bucket of water and had recordings of cruise ships and oil rigs from Under the water and also sounds of the bottle nose dolphins talking to each other.
She had a bucket full of items she had collected from the point, sooo many cotton bud sticks from when they used plastic instead of wood, 100’s of them !
We had a litter pick around the park using litter pickers which the girls enjoyed using. Unfortunately it is used by lots of teenagers mainly during their lunch break , the evidence was clear to see although not as bad as it been in the past, the long weekend might have had something to do with it, plus the grass had been cut.
A quick walk and sit at the point after , lovely and quiet,A seal and dolphin spotted in the distance and lots of terns. Three Eider ducks were swimming about too.
