NothingGetsLost

Even the busiest kids with the loudest feelings need a quiet moment every now and again.
I love adventure days especially because of the space I can give kids to learn to manage themselves and follow what they feel they need in any given moment.

My absolute pet hate is adults (teachers especially, sorry teachers not all I'm sure!) telling off or punishing kids for attempting to manage their feelings in a way that suits them. Which inevitably leads to bigger feelings usually less well expressed and more punishment and so on.
How many times do we -  step outside/escape to the toilets/do a quick walk round the office or corridor when things get tricky or we need a bit of time to think or calm down? Generally seen as a good thing to do.
Or get annoyed with a colleague or situation and have a little tant or rant about it?  Not good but realistic.
Or just feel grumpy and not that enthusiastic some days? Totally normal.
Yet when kids do or try to do these things with thier not fully developed brains more often than not they get in trouble!
