Tōuarangi

My Dear Princess,

The weather has been variable lately, as we head into winter. But I took a punt and wore just a light jacket on the train.

The weather during the commute seemed to validate my decision. Overcast, sure. But not pishing.

Until the train pulled into Wellington. Suddenly the roof rattled and echoed as heavy rain PELTED down.

I watched the commuters get off, grumpy and scowling. All except for one woman with red hair and a jacket even less substantial than mine.

She pulled it around herself and looked at me, grinning. Like she was looking forward to stamping in puddles. And even though I had no idea who she was, I just loved her.

I think it is because she reminded me of you.
