I'm redoing a self-portrait course this year. This is my Week 1 homework. The aim was to make a self-portrait using possessions. This tallied very neatly with the exhibition by Wendy Aldiss, "My Father's Things", that I enjoyed so much when I saw it in Oxford last month.

A self-portrait of things.
I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a niece, a friend... The people who gave or left me these things are the ones who made me into the person I am today.

I will be playing this song in my head for the next few days!
