Another damp morning. I did useful* things around the house, and as the recycling site reopened yesterday I drove down with the bags of garden waste, cardboard and more.
A brighter afternoon. I went to Grasmere as I wanted to look at something on the way. I forgot. Parked near the gingerbread shop and walked a circuit along the riverside path. When passing the wishing well looking like a tourist someone coming the other way said “Hello Sandra”. It was Steve who until recently and for many years has run Fred’s bookshop in Ambleside. As he lives in Kendal I didn’t expect to see him again so it was a nice surprise.
A colourful Grasmere scene in the main blip and others in the extra. More pink flowers to identify today . . . it’s Pink Purslane (found on the web) but is in neither of my wild flower books.
* sorting kerbside recycling for collection tomorrow, trying to unblock kitchen sink, emptying and cleaning the hanging bird feeders as the birds seem to have lost interest.
