All The People
crowding doorways
lurking within underpasses
filling shops
blocking entrances
desiring shelter
packing buses
taking up seats
overstraining trains
ordering Ubers
cluttering cafes
peopling pubs
in sterile corridors
regaining consciousness
languishing in A&E
assembling
with other young minds
in school assemblies
in
hallowed halls
their footsteps echo
in
ancient libraries
their whispers intertwine
their prayers enter
the airwaves
of religious spaces
some seeking answers
some seeking power
some seeking out
'the poorer quarters
where the ragged people live'
they look to the skies
their eyes
only too aware
'a hard rain's
a gonna fall'
'all the people
so many people'
and this
is but a snippet
