Say Hello To Spencer
Spencer is my oldest and longest standing friend.
We met each other at primary school. He then moved and went to another primary school for the last few years. We then met again at secondary school, and went to school together for about 3 years until he moved to Hong Kong, his parents were lecturers for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
We lost touch then for a number of years, probably five or more. Spencer was at Kings College in London studying medicine and was staying at the family home (that they retained when they moved to Hong Kong). Spencer just happened to see my father commuting into London on the tube, and we were back in touch. I went off to university and then moved up to Oxfordshire, and Spencer qualified as a doctor and started working in Kent and our contact became more sporadic as we pursued our careers.
All through our lives we have had this on off relationship. No contact for often a year or more and then we pick up, and can chat and catch up like we were chatting yesterday. Truly the kind of friendship you can cherish throughout your life.
