Once it stood tall and stately

I don't remember buying tulips with such a large head so I'm thinking that it was one I got when the gardeners in Pollok park were digging up the tulip bulbs and were happy to give them away instead of just putting them on the compost heap. I just happened to be there on the digging out day.
