In the pink
A glorious day - the sign outside the chemist in Bantry recorded 22C! The market was in full swing and everyone in excellent moods, enjoying the buzz and sunshine. I bought some homemade soaps, some olives, artichokes and dolmades; 5 geraniums and some lettuce, kale, basil and coriander seedlings.
On our way home we noticed it was high tide and decided we ought to person-up and get in the water. It was beautiful in Kitchen Cove, the water so clear but sooooo cold! The first 90 seconds are the worst apparently and I reckon there's something in that. Suitably shocked, then numbed I was able to float around fro about 5 minutes!
A bit of strimming, planting the seedlings and general lounging around completed activities.
The sun is still shining but shortly we may watch another episode of Queen Charlotte; A Bridgeton Story. I'm actually enjoying this much more than the last series, it is bonkers but it does have something to say too and the young woman who plays Charlotte is excellent.
The thrift is now out and looking ravishing. As small trespass was needed to blip this but who could resist. I'm always amazed how it can grow on stone and concrete but here it's on the sea shore, lapping up the wind and salt.
