A new adventure
It was tough having a six am take off from Birmingham, but it was certainly worth it. Just after nine I was in the front seat of the minibus transfer, enjoying the wonderful scenery from Verona up to the Alto Adige region.
I’ve loved watching the Dolomite sections of the Giro d’Italia and a friend helped me find a package that made it possible.
Merano is very German. The driver’s radio was playing German (or maybe Austrian) heavy metal and country as we sped north and when I sat in a lovely riverside cafe, the waiter took my order in German…..
It’s a fabulous region. I’m so glad I overcame my post-pandemic nerves about travelling.
Now where shall I watch Eurovision this evening ?
Edit. A magnificent rainbow as I was watching the end of the stage of the Giro in my room.
I’ve never seen one so low !!
