Not the Caribbean!
No Cornwall!
Difficult decision. This one or my first extra. This was MrC’s favourite. Neither did justice to thee most breathtaking view of the sand sea and sky as we stood on Hayle Towans, looking across to St Ives.
I just couldn’t capture the right colours.
Our morning started with morning coffee at Balwest Methodist Chapel, where we met up with J.
Last year we met by accident. ( see Blip 17/09/22).
I found the sermon which my dad preached back in 1979, and brought a copy for J.
He was so surprised! Also very grateful.
We had a nice chat over a cup of coffee. Made very welcome and two ladies remember meeting us last year.
Then it was a walk up Tregonning Hill. Oh what a beautiful view over Mounts Bay. Not a cloud in the sky, and very warm.
Everywhere full of wild flowers. Just so peaceful apart from the bird song.
Then on to Hayle where we queued for Philps Pasties. Straight out of the oven.
Drove to Hayle Towns where we nearly burnt our tongues eating them as they were so hot.
After a walk along the cliffs we went down to the town for a walk along King George V Memorial way.
As it is the first time we have done this in May there were lots of new and interesting flowers out.
See collage of some of them second extra.
I was thrilled to se the purple Jacaranda tree. Last time was in South Africa.
Also the huge tall spikes of I think a type of Agave, but not sure. There were several. All as tall as a lamppost.
The weather has been amazing today.
Still not a cloud in the sky. Temp reached 20C.
We are so lucky.
