Cooking slowly
I bought a new slow cooker a couple of days ago but only just unpacked it today.
I was going to use it yesterday but given it’s brand new, and I was out yesterday afternoon decided to wait till tomorrow for it’s first run out which will be a beef ragu.
I did have one years ago but can’t really remember what happened to it. I think I gave it away as it wasn’t being used much.
This one boasts a sear and stew pot which is lightweight. So I can brown on the hob and not have to transfer from a frying pan etc.
With regard to the "lightweight" claim - my goodness they are not kidding - the glass lid is heavier. Modern advances in materials and all that….
And now I’ve said that, I should have saved this till Monday when the subject for the Mono challenge is ‘modern’ - oh well! Sigh!
