British Super Series

Grandson H had been invited to take part in this series as he qualified a few weeks ago in Nottingham. So today he did the first race.
We'd gone up to Port Talbot and spent a quiet night there yesterday - found a lovely Indian restaurant for a delicious meal before an early night.
Off to Llanelli after a good breakfast and a long wait for the opening of the registration. We watched others taking part in their sections, ate snacks, drank coffee and water galore as it was wonderfully warm! 
H did not know what to expect but seemed to enjoy the day immensely. His swim did not go to plan as he was kicked in the face in the melee to get in/get going, but he made up on the bike ride and run. We are waiting to get his official times and hope he has made it through to the next one. He did say the he prefers the longer lengths (full triathlon) as he has great stamina, but did enjoy trying this one.
We left around 4.30 pm and got back to Barnstaple in time for a late supper, watched a few of the Eurovision songs and are now heading for bed!
