Bank Holiday beachwear

This guy is fighting his way through the crowds on the beach to try and find a free space to sit down and enjoy the weather.

No: this is an English Bank Holiday. So the skies are grey, the rain has been persisting down all day, and the air temperature is now even lower than the sea temperature. About the only people on the beach, apart from this man dressed against the elements, were a couple of lifeguards, still required to keep a lookout in case any brave souls ventured into the water. Late this afternoon there were a few vans in the beach car park and some ultra-keen surfers donning their wet suits: some people are never put off by the weather.

I should not have been put off by the weather, either - but constantly drying out my clothes and camera gear does get a bit tiresome, so I took very few photos today. Instead, spent quite some time in the warm and dry of our holiday accommodation reading a book - just as I had planned for this week.
