Stairway

It was a special celebration for the bellringers at church this morning. When the ringers are up the tower this door is normally kept shut, the notice advising people that ringing is in progress. Today it wasn’t so I thought this would make an interesting blip. Plenty have climbed these steps over the centuries. 
NB: ringing is an interesting pursuit but can be dangerous with ropes controlling heavy bells. Accidents can happen hence the need for access to be restricted during ringing. FYI the Head Gardener is also very good at ringing. The band were attempting a quarter-peal today but it fired up after about 10 minutes.
