Went to a lovely show today at Canaan farm. We just entered the show jumping classes which didn't start till 1.30 so we had a lovely chilled morning bathing Jack and cleaning his tack. 

Eva rode beautifully and Jack was so well behaved as there's always quite a bit of standing about between classes and he just stands really quietly. I'm so proud that she doesn't yank him about (like some of the other kids) just to get a faster jump off time and she was so much more confident today. The classes were quite busy and she got 2 x 5th place and a 6th place. 

I just about made it back in time for my lesson with Ruth thanks to Jenny getting him in for me. Had a fab lesson working on getting Buddy not to just change direction with his nose. It was hard but we got some fabulous canter transitions. He worked really hard.

Cannibalz had a last minute gig booked at The Thornton today. Unfortunately it clashed with the show so it's the first time I've not been to watch. Apparently it went really well, best yet. Tobes was still buzzing tonight. Toby's old primary school teacher even turned up to watch them play, which was so nice of him. 

On the way to the show we have to drive through Barrow over the river soar. There was a police cordon up and on the way back someone had put bunches of flowers there so I realised there must have been some sort of accident. Heartbroken to read tonight that a teenage boy drowned there last night. They had to pull three others out. What a horrible tragedy.
