The other day we got up and one of the Poppies had burst into full flower overnight.  There had been no signs of opening the evening before.  Now one or two are showing the bud splitting   The contrast between the crumpled petals and the hairy sepals caught my eye.

After yesterday's glorious weather today wasn't as good.  Still, we had planned a BBQ with Kanyl so we went ahead.  Fortunately, the rain held off until we were taking our last bites of food.   We then did the sensible thing and adjourned indoors.
