Expectant

Wonderful day out at Bempton today. Totally loved this parent patiently sitting on the nest. Lay under the warm sun for a good few minutes watching the partner (first extra) come and go, and the other nesting gannets close by, hoping for the glimpse of an egg - I got lucky! Utterly delightful. Further extras shows the pair on the nest. So many gannet favourites, puffins will have to wait! Just for the record, my first sighting of a whinchat and pleased with the white throat too
