"wilderness in the darkest night"

It's 1 year to the day since I sat my last ever exam at university, beginning what has so far been a roller-coaster year of emotions and activities since with its fair share of highs, lows, ups, downs, hopes and dreams!

I had a bad start at university, but looking back I wouldn't change the experience for anything! I did things I never thought I'd do, seen things I'd never thought I'd see, but most importantly I made a new group of friends over the 4 years that I now can't imagine my life without! How did I function properly without them all?!!

To paraphrase my calendar quote for today: I had to leave the city of my home comforts and go to the wilderness of university life. What I eventually discovered was indeed wonderful and what I discovered was myself! I found the real me, with the help of a few special people along the way! :)

If I had to choose whether to move away from home comforts to the wilderness of Dundee again I would, regardless of all the homesickness and feelings of loneliness that still creep up on me from time to time! It was the making of me!

A strong friend network can be the calm oasis that everyone needs when they move to an unknown wilderness!
