Bluebells

I finished a report this morning which had been a bit of a stop-start job because of other commitments. To celebrate, I  joinined my wife in the garden in the afternoon to start getting it in some order. We are not doing much mowing at the moment and don't want to uproot too much because we want to encourage bees and other pollinators. But, as usual, we have had loads of bluebells that have flowered and now needed pulling. I think these are the Spanish type of bluebells which have become a bit notorious because they spread so much and displace native English bluebells. Apparently, Spanish bluebells were introduced by the Victorians as a garden plant and "escaped" into the wild. They have also mixed with English bluebells to produce hybrid versions, so these may be hybrids. Maybe a blipper can enlighten me. Anyway these and the rest of the spent  flowers we pulled today will be heading to the tip tomorrow or Tuesday.  There's also some dreaded mare's tail in amongst the bluebells.
