Buda Hills sunset

Saturday dawned bright and sunny, and we caught the local train to Szentendre, a small and increasingly touristy town just outside Budapest on the Danube. It became famous for its art colony, and it still boasts quite a few worthwhile little galleries. I hadn't realised when I visited it previously, at least fifteen years ago, that it was also a place where there were significant Serbian and other south Slav minorities from the 16th century onwards until well into the 19th century. We even found a Serbian restaurant to eat at, which did passable cevapi.

Back to Budapest, we also caught the sunset - taken off the balcony of our friend's flat. Nice spot! More drinking, and more chatting in the evening, but we didn't have the energy to go out so stayed in the flat.
