The Ollièmölle

The Olliemölle is a double water mill from the 14th century on the course of the Boven-Slinge; it is also known as Den Helder-Boven Slinge. The watermills, weir and bridge were renovated in 2016, while preserving the cultural-historical character.
The oldest mention of the water mill is from the year 1303. In 1686 the mill was completely rebuilt and from then on it was known as the Plekenpolse mill, named after the manor house. It concerns a double undershot corn and oil mill. The flour mill was used for grinding rye, oats and wheat. The oil mill produced oil from linseed, rapeseed, rapeseed and cottage cheese.
