Longevity

The first Cymbidium Orchid  to flower is now the first where the flowers have died off and dropped. Unbelievably, I first captured this Orchid coming into flower on the 29th December and the flowers have remained until this day. I've not known them last this long before so perhaps they are best suited to an unheated conservatory! The inner parts of these dead flowers have maintained some colour but the outer petals have taken on a delicate papery texture.
