View for Another Life
Many, many years ago - not quite as long ago as the day United won the league at Dens, forty years ago yesterday, but long enough - this was my walk to work. The S&N offices were at the foot of the Royal Mile, where the Parliament building now is. For a while my desk was beside the window that looked out onto the roundabout at the foot of the Mile. Although I was rarely arriving as early as I was this morning - heading for a job at Dynamic Earth. Day one today was headshots of the team, assembled from all over the world this week, and tomorrow I am back for the first day of their annual conference. Later on football was five v six and unfortunately I was on the five. We did pretty well, keeping it close until the last few minutes and scoring several goals after neat passing moves that belied our numeric disadvantage. Scored a couple myself - the first with a bit of time to place it in the corner and the second a first time shot from another great cutback. More pleased in my involvement with a couple of the other goals, including one great move that was finished off by J that even had some of the opposition players applauding. In the end we lost by three but was still a good game.
