All over the place

Up really early to swim around Box End Lake. A first visit for me. Lots of weeds, weirdly cold compared to other lakes, but good all the same, especially as we followed our swim with a humongous breakfast in a box.

Also up early, were the boys and men in the house. Today was LongLegs’ stag do. Lots of plans, lots of people and lots of fun and clever antics. He loved it. Really loved it. Like a diamond, it had many faces and was very precious (corny I know :-)) )

And then mid evening, as Elbows and I thought we had a breather before they starting coming back in dribs and drabs, a young lady from church called, asking me/us to take her to A&E. Which we did. Sitting next to her in the waiting area, I was startled to see that sticker, bottom right photo, on her wheelchair. My family lived in Australia for a decade because of my fathers involvement in the establishment of the James Cook University in Townsville in Queensland. And only last night, I had been talking to someone about the Cook Islands.

So apparently James Cook was born in Middlesborough, which is where my young friend comes from. So somehow, this chair of hers, bears James Cook’s name as the property of the University Hospital …

So back home in the small hours of Sunday, and we tried to go to sleep, but the Stag party started to arrive back between 3am-4.30am …

I think it’s fair to say, we are ‘bushed’, and we’re up early in the morning too.
