The bandstand.

The refurbished St Andrews bandstand at the Bow Butts. It was built in 1905 by ornamental ironwork specialist McFarlane & Co in Glasgow. Over the years, and with a lack of regular maintenance, the bandstand fell into disrepair. A two year £140,000 refurbishment project was completed at end of April. During the works the bandstand’s ornamental steel decorations were replaced, main columns shot blasted etc, and everything finished with five coats of paint, similar to that used on the Forth Bridge. An opening ceremony will coincide with the first summer concert on 2 July 2023.

We walked along the path at the East Sands earlier.

Later I sanded a bench. Hopefully get a few dry days to treat it.
