City Wildlife

Well, not exactly in the city, but we are so glad that even living in an American city and in a high rise, within 5 minutes walk we are by the river and seeing sights like this.  We have been going for a regular walk along the river and even though one of the walks saw a dead body being removed by the police, I didn't think that it would be a very good blip.  However, it did have a profound effect on my thinking - so often we read in the news "body found in the river" - when confronted by the actual reality, it brought home that every one of those headlines is a real person and this had me thinking about how we become so inured to the news.
Anyway, this heron was not phased by our presence and photography.  The walk allows us a round trip back past BG for a coffee and then grapefruit and croissants for breakfast - we have adopted an aA MT tradition - which is a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning.
