Not a butterfly
As I walked back from the dentist (tooth settled down so rather than disturb the crown we agreed to leave it alone and monitor) I saw two butterflies dancing in the air. Whether it was a mating ritual or two males fighting over territory I don’t know. They danced for a few minutes and barely settled. Despite several attempts at photographs, when I looked closely they were too out of focus.
So, instead, you get a neighbour’s tree peony resplendent in the sunshine. The one I rescued from my godmother’s garden has survived another winter but is not yet as far advanced. Nor is it as dramatic. So I am happy to show this one.
