The Art of Being Green
Another viper that was on my "wish list", the Side Striped Palm Pit Viper. A small arboreal snake that spends its time in thick growth of forests. This was one of 3 vipers that we photographed today, in addition to 6 frog species. An absolutely wonderful day!
We left our lodge in the rain forest after breakfast this morning and drove 90 minutes to our shooting location. We wrapped up about 4:30 and headed to the lodge we are staying in tonight - which is absolutely lovely! I can hear the songs of various frogs right outside my room in the lush vegetation.
Tomorrow after breakfast, we head to the mountains, about a 3.5 hour drive. It will be much cooler at 9,000 feet, so I'll be packing the shorts away. Hard to believe we only have a few days left.
I should add that our session with the bats last night was fantastic! We each had a session with multi flash set up to catch the bats coming in to get nectar from a banana flower. Then our guide changed the set up to backlight the bats which was really fun and created some very dramatic results.
Do check back with Hillyblips and Osuzanna to see what they blipped~
