It seems that I am of the age when I have to attend more funerals than weddings...... today I went along to say goodbye to a very good friend, May.  May had been in a home for a number of years, and passed away recently at the age of 95.  I have walked hundreds, if not thousands, of miles with May and Bill, her late husband, in Scotland, Wales, England, Austria, and she was such a gentle person, with a heart of gold.  There were quite a few walkers at the service, which was a Roman Catholic Mass, which I am not familiar with, but it was peaceful and I was pleased to add my respects with the others.  Bob was not able to attend which saddened him., but he is not yet ready for going out and about like that.

There was a cold bite to the wind as I made my way to the church, summer seems to be a little off yet.

I felt a little guilty leaving Bob after lunch also, as it was the AGM of our Ladies Circle.  It was not a long AGM though, and we were able to approve quite a lot of charitable donations as we had built up quite a lot of funds.  The main charity benefitting by £500 was for Dementia, and £200 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.  Also local ones to Brownies and Boys Brigade of £50 each.  It all helps.

After the AGM our speakers were four ladies from Jackton WI, who did poetry readings, which were very funny and mostly dealing with life in Glasgow in the old days.

And I was home in time to make Bob some afternoon coffee!

My main photo is of the poetry ladies, and my extra is self explanatory.
