This is one of my favourite spots to take photos. Really like the light you get from the outside and the framing from the bridge. 

I hope the participants of the Software Carpentry Workshop weren't lost.  Today's session covered the UNIX shell. It's an awful lot of material which might be a little overwhelming for people who haven't come across the shell before. Turnout was excellent and we had a pretty much full room. After many years of remote teaching it was really nice to have an in person session again. Remote meetings are good when you are afte something very specific. A general introductory course is so much better in person.
