Bright eyed
Elsa has had quite a dramatic 24hrs.
A trip to the groomers yesterday morning,
always exhausting for her.
A long walk through the field and golf course in the afternoon.
The return of my American cousins, which was a treat for us all, once we had located Betsy's missing and vitally important medication - it was in her suitcase all along.
We just got over that and were celebrating with a glass of wine when I noticed what look like a small family of ticks on Elsa's lip. I detest them and it was an absolute nightmare trying to extract them. Anywhere else on her body would have been a doddle, but right on her mouth was virtually impossible. Keeping her head still and avoiding getting fingers bitten off was a trial and very distressing for us all.
Peter miraculously managed to extract two
but what we thought was number three was no go and Elsa was too agitated.
Anyway, we got her off to the local animal hospital first thing and all is now well.
We all suspect the ticks had jumped aboard Elsa from the long grass edging the golf course
Extra of Colin and Betsy holding a photo I found of them on their wedding day in 1967.
