Happy Mother's Day ...

... From Piper and Luani!

To mark this special day (Mother's day in the States) we went to the Lehigh Valley Zoo ... along with half of Pennsylvania is seems!  Yes ... it was busy!

We made our usual trip around the zoo ending at the otters.  They have recently acquired a new female (darker one on bottom of pic) to keep the male company since losing his former companion.   I shouldn't ever forget her name as it's Piper!  Just like Piper, Elaine's dog.   The main photo is of both Piper and Luani (the male) and I've added an Extra of just Piper.  The zoo hopes that these two will eventually mate.  Wouldn't it be fun to see some baby otters!?!

After walking through the zoo we drove through through the ford that crosses Jordan Creek so that we could have our picnic lunch.  The weather was simply lovely.  

We had grilled steak and potatoes for supper followed by a short walk at the local high school's track.  

Happy Mother's day to all that celebrated today.  Including my own beautiful mom.   And a heavenly Happy Birthday to my dad who would have been 91 today.
