"Top Tips" for social media
Tonight we had a zoom talk from three expert users of social media organised by Scotland’s Gardens.
All participants were garden owners but the tips applied to everyone who wants to take advantage of this powerful new medium.
I thought I knew a little bit about it but now realise I have been tinkering with it.
Years ago I remember being told by an advertising executive that if you wanted to get information across then people have to see it three times. Now it’s seven times.
Make it personal. For those of us who cringe at the idea of promoting ourselves this is bad news. Most young people though have no difficulty with this.
Oh yes and the best time to post, whether it’s a reel, story or post is 6am, well that is what one keen gardening expert says she does. Apparently there is something on instagram that allows you to see what time your followers are online.
With Open Gardens coming up this Sunday I decided to blip yet another view of the garden, this time of the patio with flowers waiting to be planted out tomorrow. The full devastation of winter losses coupled with deer damage is becoming apparent by the day.
