what on earth????

Ur guess is as good as mine,at first when I saw this I was 20ft away with no contact lenses in, so what I saw at first were green flowers!!! was confused cos I know this plant produces a purple flower,anyway on closer inspection this is what I found !!! Doing know what to say really !
