Cut off and replaced?!?

You may (or may not!) remember that we’ve been trying for over a year to get our non-functioning central heating and leaky shower room sorted. After many, many delays, the central heating engineers started work today… which means the shower guy can come back in a few days to finish the work he started in March. We’re hoping to get the kitchen and bathroom done next year… I’m not holding my breath! By a funny coincidence, one of the guys here today is an old student of mine!

Talking of school… I was told yesterday that despite my thinking that my now being directly employed by the school meant that I was going to stay there full-time forever, apparently they may only need me for the odd day or so after half term, but most likely not at all until September, as ‘it’s very quiet now’. So, not really sure how much the paper my new contract with them is written on is worth but doesn’t sound like a lot!

I only found this out because my head of department was quite shocked and upset yesterday as she said she’d been told I’d quit because I didn’t want to work in the science department any more? Ex-cuh-yooooooz meeee?

I really don’t make this stuff up, honest!
