Pulling The Wool

Meet Dame's Rocket, a pretty and colourful flower, the first to appear in the prairie and a welcome sight after winter's drab. Although in the garden we have enjoyed daffs and crocus and hyacinth etc., here in wilder nature, much is left to promise.

However, it is a sheep in wolf's clothing, being an invasive species with potential to cause environmental harm. Often confused, including by myself in the past, with wild phlox and consequently allowed to pervade.

The parallels with current discussions, on AI systems' potential to persuade humanity to do its bidding, struck me. Here is a plant in the natural world that has used its features to influence human behaviour.
