Stonechat

After we dropped Sophie off at school this morning we drove on to Kilve and walked along the coastal path towards Minehead.

It was a beautiful and very peaceful with just birdsong, the occasional bleat of sheep and the hush of the waves at the bottom of the cliffs as a soundtrack.

This stonechat (I think) and his mate in extras kept us company for a while flitting ahead of us to bushes and fence posts.

In the two hours we were walking we only saw two other couples (on different occasions). Bizarrely, when we got chatting to them it turned out that they were both from different areas of Oxford, staying down this way for the week.

When we got back to the car park, we sat in the nearby tea garden, enjoying the sunshine and home made cheese scones with cream cheese and homemade pickle.

I may have needed a snooze when we got home this afternoon!
