Winged Sunshine

What a treat finding this yellow warbler looking for nesting material along the cobbosseecontee stream today. It’s a bird we never see in our yard. We had stopped by to watch the osprey fishing for alewives, along with wading seagulls doing the same in the swift running water. Lots of house sparrows flitted about enjoying dust baths and singing happy tunes • MrsP then announced she saw a yellow bird. What?!? • We left for home to get the camera and binoculars, then hung out for almost an hour. We weren’t disappointed :) • It feels like Fall today, with gusty winds. A freeze warning has been issued for tonight and early tomorrow morning. So relieved we haven’t planted anything except for pansies, but fingers crossed our flowering perennials all survive • Our plans for the weekend with my niece and family have been rescheduled due to rain.
